Offline Captioner

Offline Captioners are post-production specialists interested in making a difference in the lives of deaf and hard-of-hearing Americans. They are responsible for transcription and/or placement and timing of stylistically accurate captions for prerecorded television shows airing on the following networks:

  • Discovery Channel
  • TLC
  • Animal Planet
  • Travel Channel
  • PBS
  • BBC America
  • Sundance Channel
  • Lifetime
  • MTV
  • VH1
  • BET

And more!

Qualified candidates have the following attributes:

  • Advanced English grammar skills
  • Typing speed of 65+ words per minute
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under stringent deadlines
  • Ability to pay great attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Computer literacy skills with Windows Proficiency
  • English, Journalism, Communications or related degree preferred
