VITAC announces
new management changes.

VITAC, a Merrill company, the national leader in captioning
and subtitling services recently announced that Patricia Prozzi
was named Chief Executive Officer and President. Joe Karlovits
was named Chairman of the company.
Ms. Prozzi joined VITAC in September 2002 as President. In
her new position, she will be responsible for operations,
sales, marketing, and finance and will continue to facilitate
company growth and market leadership. “I am excited
and honored to lead VITAC into a new phase of development
as we make our way through the complex challenges facing our
industry. We have a superior, dedicated team committed to
customer satisfaction as well as sustainable growth. Joe and
I will continue the strong partnership that we have forged
over the last year and a half.”
Ms. Prozzi brings 25 years of leadership experience to her
position as CEO and President of VITAC. She spent seven years
at AT&T Wireless where she led the Northeast Region to
record growth during periods of price decline, increased competition
and industry consolidation. She went on to start up DQE Communications,
a fiber and broadband division for the Southwestern PA utility,
DQE . She later launched ProVision Management Partners, a
consulting firm that provides strategic, marketing and operating
direction.
Ms. Prozzi received an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s
Wharton School. She currently serves on the board of the American
Red Cross.
Mr. Karlovits was a co-founder of VITAC in 1986. He has been
a pioneer in captioning and other realtime uses of machine
shorthand technology including being the first court reporter
to perform realtime captioning at the U.S. Supreme Court.

the Pennsylvania Court Reporters Association, and the Center
for Hearing & Deaf Services and he is the recipient of
the 2002 National Court Reporters Distinguished Service award.
