VITAC extends its accessibility
services to blind and low-vision audiences, adding audio
description to television, government, and home-video
programming. Our in-house experts, with years of description
and audio production experience, bring television to life for
millions of sight-impaired Americans.
VITAC’s Described Media team places
a priority on quality through every step of the description
process. Our writers are expert at describing actions,
characters costumes and text in an unobtrusive manner. The VITAC
Quality Control team reviews the description for
understandability and makes any necessary revisions. Voiceover
talent is cast according to the genre and to ensure easy
distinction from characters in the program, and the talent’s
description is recorded digitally using state-of-the-art tools
and technology. The final mixed description can be delivered in
multiple formats.
To ensure that our audio
description meets the highest expectations of consumers, the
VITAC Audio Production team includes experienced professionals
with and without visual impairments. Blind audio engineers and
quality control specialists have thousands of hours of
experience and hundreds of credits in productions ranging from
nationally distributed music CDs and audio dramas, to award
winning documentaries, and primetime programs broadcast on major
TV networks.
