VITAC offers the best-quality, most reliable realtime captioning in the industry.
VITAC’s realtime captioning department captions over 150,000 hours of programming per year, including exclusive agreements with CNN, CNN Headline News , The Tonight Show, and government teleconferences. Our customers know that with VITAC, their show will be handled by a team dedicated to meeting their needs.
Where many companies rely on and share the services of freelance captioners, VITAC has chosen to employ its realtime captioners. Our employee captioners are held to strict VITAC quality guidelines, and all use the same equipment, maintained by VITAC, to reduce technical difficulties.
Captioners and customers are supported 24/7/365 by production coordinators and our Systems and Engineering departments. At VITAC, our customers know that their project is handled by a group of individuals and their questions will be answered immediately.
This team approach allows VITAC to offer innovative solutions, including various Internet Captioning options, live display captioning for short-turnaround programming, and realtime transcripts.
Whenever possible, VITAC uses pre-scripted captions for live programs, allowing our customers to receive offline-accurate captions with near realtime turnarounds. This technique, called live display, allows our customers to provide program audio or video as little as three hours before a program airs. Our production coordinators quickly transcribe the video, creating a caption transcript. This transcript is then sent as captions, one line at a time, as the program airs. VITAC’s live display captioning can be seen daily on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, As the World Turns, and many more programs.
