Education
Educational institutions, like corporations, government agencies
and broadcasters, have specific mandates that they must meet—specifically
the ADA laws and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of
1973. These regulations require that educational institutions
receiving government funding must provide accessibility.
VITAC's captioning and video description services are two
ways educational institutions can easily meet the mandates
while continuing to deliver learning materials to all possible
audiences. Captioning itself can be an educational tool and
for some is critical to the learning process. Deaf and hard-of-hearing students rely on captioning along with other accessibility
services. Many teachers use captioning to help reinforce literacy
skills for their elementary students as well as those students
learning English as a second language.
Because VITAC recognizes the needs and goals of educational
institutions, we are dedicated to ensuring that our captions
are of the highest quality. Our customer service, engineering
and system teams are always available to answer any of your
questions.
